Be a part of this exciting new opportunity for our Golden Isles community!

House of Hope's CEO and Executive Director, Yoshi Jones, along with her team, are honored and thrilled to announce the GRAND OPENING of Agape Performing Arts Academy (APAA) in Brunswick, GA. Located in the heart of Downtown Brunswick at 1603 Albany Street, APAA is poised to become a staple for families in The Golden Isles community.

The Agape Performing Arts Academy Story

Agape Performing Arts Academy originated from the mind of its Creator and Executive Director Yoshi Jones, after being told that her son had a learning disability. However, the resilient mother refused to let a system that she knew was formulated against her child's success and future to tell her that that was the case. This is when she made it a point to ensure that his education was curated specifically for his level of development. She realized that children learned their best through patterns, rhythms, and lyrics. This was the source of inspiration for creating Agape Performing Arts Academy. Knowing this school would be the home of rhythmic learning, and a pillar in the community, she knew after acquiring the former Roxy Theatre in Brunswick, GA, that there was no turning back.

The Roxy theater was originally built at 1603 Albany St. in Brunswick,GA in 1940. Owned by Lucas and Jenkins who were also the proprietors of several other theaters in the State of Georgia. Lucas and Jenkins were a subsidiary company of Paramount Pictures and showed movies to black audiences during the time of segregation. Yoshi's chest swelled with pride knowing that she would be a part of living Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream, by uniting the community through music, dance, and education. YOU are invited now to join us in this dream come true!

Kiddie Proms 2023 to be held and hosted by Agape Performing Arts Academy:

  • May 13: Black Panther - Grades 6-8

Beginning Summer 2023, APAA will host its first Summer Camp for Kids where children of Glynn County will be given the opportunity to be a part of a musical performance, making memories and acquiring skills that are sure to last a lifetime!

APAA will provide a weekday preschool for pre-k aged children, and an after-school program for kids through 8th grade. The classes will include ballet, acting, music, art and much more.

FUNDS ARE NEEDED to complete construction of classrooms and for classroom materials such as desk, classroom monitors and smart boards, furniture such as cubbies, ballet bars, etc.

Agape Performing Arts Academy's connection to House of Hope (HOH) is a beautiful and meaningful one. As the girls in the HOH program progress, they are given opportunities to gain skills to help them find independence through employment as well as educational endeavors. APAA will be a place where the girls can work in a variety of ways, empowering them with various vocational skills and experiences (administrative, teaching, arts, childcare, etc).

Proceeds above the costs to run the school and its programs will go to House of Hope. Creating an income resource for HOH is more important than ever and team is truly gratified to present Agape Performing Arts Academy to the Coastal Georgia community, knowing it will benefit children and families for generations to come.
